A Taste of Inspiration: Anya's Apothekere
Anya Corson, Founder and CEO of Anya’s Apothekere
By now you’ve heard that when it comes to entrepreneurship, St. Louis has got it goin’ on. Creative, hardworking, and downright inspiring entrepreneurs like Anya Corson are the lifeblood of our city - and when we got to taste a bit of what she’s bringing to the table we knew we’d have to share.
Anya comes from a family of healers, but long before she was crafting fermented honey sauces, she was knocking heads on the ice with the best. While attending Tabot Academy and playing hockey with some women she now calls lifelong friends, Anya studied a variety of subjects that fueled her passion. Years of study were all rooted in her primary passion: holistic health & wellness.
With a B.A., culinary school, doula training, and certifications as an Eco-Maternity Consultant and Lactation Counselor, Anya has spent years studying what our bodies need to perform their best… and she’s got the secret weapon to back it up!
Searching for food that enhanced both her children’s wellness and enjoyment of perhaps not-so-enjoyable vegetables, Anya created fermented honey sauces that have been stocking the pantries of local chefs, wellness enthusiasts, and busy families like hers for years. An entrepreneur by day (and night!) Anya is in charge of all operations at Anya’s Apothekere where three separate sauces are fermented, jarred, and shipped across the country.
But, any good entrepreneur knows it doesn’t start and stop at the production line. Anya’s been the face of the Apothekere visiting wholesalers, farmer’s markets, craft food shows, and media including a feature in The New York Times.
Take a peek at these sweet + savory sauces from Anya’s Apothekere website:
