FIVE ACTIONABLE WAYS TO INCREASE YOUR BRAND'S VISIBILITY ON SOCIAL MEDIA

The digital landscape is an extremely vast place. From social media marketing to e-blasts and Google Ads, deciding when and where your messaging should appear can be overwhelming. As a business owner, you are probably wondering - where do I start? Or I’ve started XYZ, but where do I go from here? Regardless of where you are in the race, the following are FIVE actionable ways you can jumpstart your brand’s visibility on social media. 

STRATEGY #1: Build A Content Calendar

You’re probably wondering -- why do I need to build a content calendar for my social channels? That sounds rather counterintuitive because shouldn’t social media be - social? You’re absolutely right. But running social media for your business is an entirely different beast than running your personal account. It’s imperative you create a good mix of what we like to call: pillars. These pillars ensure that you are sharing your business from multiple angles which include user-generated content, testimonials, call-to-actions and lifestyle posts. When you create a content calendar, this gives you a high-level view of the type of posts you’re creating. Of course, feel free to sprinkle those “in the moment” posts but you know that a content calendar gives you a foundation to work from.

STRATEGY #2: Collaborate With A Similar Business

Collaborate, collaborate, collaborate! We cannot stress this enough. Like the popular saying goes, collaboration over competition. The key is to find a similar business that shares the same values as your company. Building an engaged audience is tough business and collaborating with another business will make it easier. Get creative! Whether that’s a simple business shoutout or a more involved engagement, sharing the online love will only grow both brands. 

STRATEGY #3: Create A Contest

Social media is all about engagement. One of the quickest ways to build that engagement is by creating an engaging contest! Everyone loves to win plus it’s a fun way to connect with your audience, both old and new!

One tip though: Always make the point of entry easy! Whether that’s just a quick tag or a simple form to fill out, make it simple for your followers. And, oh, make the gift enticing! Avoid giving out gifts such as a 5% discount because let’s be real, who wants to save only 5%?

STRATEGY #4: Get Someone To Guest Blog For You! 
This is an extension of strategy #2. If your business has a blog, we highly recommend this tactic. Not only will you gain a new friendship, but this creative endeavor will also provide valuable content to your followers. Remember in this digital age, many of us are constantly bombarded with content every day. It is up to you to make it unique and different! 

STRATEGY #5: Do A Social Media Takeover! 

Last but not least, who doesn’t love a well-done social media takeover? Not only is this tactic fun, it gives your followers an opportunity to SEE another person’s take on your company. It drums up excitement- especially if there’s a pertinent influencer involved.

For example, say Miss Lena owns a boutique. A fashion influencer called Styled by XYZ with a sizable following agrees to take over Miss Lena’s Boutique social account. Styled by XYZ does a “Come Shop With Me” Instagram Live + Stories plus a few other static posts. At the end of the session, Styled by XYZ does a giveaway of the items she picked out. She encourages her current fans to follow Miss Lena Boutique’s social account to join us in her journey.
