Using Instagram Collabs For The Holidays

You CAN be in two different places at once! Instagram has introduced a new feature to their platform that allows for a post to be shared in two different users feeds. The two authors will share views, comments and likes! This new component is great for increasing engagement and expanding collaboration with creators in general. The process for generating an Instagram collab is simple. All you have to do is create and upload a post as usual. Then, in the share screen, tap on tag people and then invite collaborator. From there, the other collaborator will receive a request to collaborate in their DMs and once they hit accept, the post will be shared on both feeds! Instagram Collabs are a great way to promote your business this holiday season. Here’s a few tips on how to utilize this feature during the most wonderful time of the year:

  1. Host A Giveaway
Instagram Collabs are a great way to collaborate with other brands or influencers for a giveaway campaign. If you’re already working with another company on a special holiday product, you can showcase it through a contest. When brands have partnered with each other in the past, they would have to each share posts on their individual feeds, making things a little confusing for users. Now with this feature, brands will accumulate collective engagement of both of their followings and spike brand visibility.

  2. Hold a Fundraiser or Help a Cause
After all, it is the season of giving. Supporting a non-profit or organization can show that you truly care about your customers and followers. Using this feature can help you to show your audience that you are teaming up with another company to support a specific cause. This will bring awareness to not one, but two different groups of people. Double the fun and double the donations to help a cause!

  3. Create An Influencer Marketing Campaign
Using influencers is a great way to launch a new product and this new feature makes the whole process so much easier! By using an Instagram collab, brands and influencers can highlight the fact that they are working together, helping to improve transparency of paid partnerships, in turn increasing brand trust. Another benefit is that businesses will be able to see the engagement themselves without having to ask partners for screenshots or implement any third party applications.

Try adding Instagram Collabs into your Holiday Marketing Strategy! We have a feeling this new feature will be a game changer for brand promotions during this holiday season. If you need help with the direction of your digital strategy, contact us today!
