How To: Creating Reels Without Video Content

Video has recently dominated social media and has changed the way the algorithm works on many platforms. Reports are showing that Reels are generating the largest amount of reach on Instagram. Whether you enjoy this switch or absolutely hate it, your business may benefit from transitioning to more video on your feed. However, most brands don’t have in-house photographers and videographers to capture the perfect video content to showcase in these Reels. Good news! You can still produce quality reels without having to show your face or spend millions. Here’s how:

  1. Consider Using Canva
Canva has great templates for creating Reels that already include transitions and audios, which makes the task of producing very easy. If you only have photos available for use, you can create a video that incorporates these photos. For example, a slide show. Not to mention, Canva has stock videos that you can use for basic concepts to help elevate your usage of videos on your page, without actually having to record them yourself.

  2.  Switch Your Carousel Posts To Short Videos
If you find yourself posting several slides in a carousel post, this is the perfect opportunity to transition them into a video. It helps to consolidate the information and chances are the same information will do better as a video then as photos. There are many apps that allow you to transform pictures into video slideshows. This is also a great opportunity to repurpose your content. Old posts, blogs and website content can be made into something even better and more useful.

  3. Share User Generated Content
Browse through your tagged posts to see if any creators have featured you in a Reel post. If they have, reach out to them and ask if you are able to use it on your page. Be sure to give them credit and a tag! Sharing user generated content can increase engagement, showcase authenticity and influence customer purchase decisions.

The thought of adding in video to your digital strategy can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. We hope these tips will help you to be successful on your social platforms. Here’s a few reel ideas to get you started:
